It’s been a busy few months for us at Joel Smith Photographer. The Summer season has been, thus far, very kind and blessed us all with clear skies, golden light and soaring temperatures. And so, like any wedding photographer would, we’ve been relishing the gorgeous weather and thoroughly enjoying working in it.
One of our favourite Weddings in the recent months was John and Debbie Logan’s. It took place at the York Hospitium in the Museum Gardens which served as a beautiful backdrop to the endearing couple.
Bride Getting ready and guests arriving
The day started at the Marmadukes Hotel in York. A beautiful boutique hotel with one of the nicest bathrooms I’ve ever seen in a hotel (It had a sauna!). The bridesmaids were getting suitably excited as the Bride got into her dress and the guest all waited in anticipation for service to start.
Service and Group shots
The service was touching and intimate moment with friends reading stories, testimonials and poetry for the couple. After, the guest made their way outside, greeted the couple with confetti and got ready for group shots.
Games and private shoot
After the group shots the guests started to mingle, drink and play a round of Hammerschlagen (I’d never heard of it until this wedding either). Then, both myself and the newlyweds went around the grounds for a private shoot.
Speeches and first dance
Close family and friends exchanged kind words during the speeches in the top floor of the Hospitium. The day was finished off perfectly with the Bride and Groom’s first dance.
I hope you enjoyed viewing these shots as much as I did taking them. If you’d like to book a wedding or wish to enquire further into my services please feel free to get in touch via the contact form.
